The former estate of the grandnephew of family patriarch John D., and the grandniece of industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, lived here. He captained a crew that rowed to a gold medal in the 1924 Paris Olympics and went on to a banking career with National City Bank, which eventually became Citigroup.
