Janis Joplin's Birthplace

The legendary rock singer grew up here. She was a key figure in the San Francisco music scene in the late 1960s. She is best known for her version of Me and Bobby McGee, a number one hit on the Hot 100 in 1971 after Janis' passing from a drug overdose in October 1970 at the Landmark Motor Hotel in Los Angeles.
