Mark worked at ClubCorp International, a Dallas based private club and resort company with 20,000 employees and 200,000 members developing new business opportunities for the company from 1991 through 2005.

Mark served as a member of the Board of Directors from 1984 to 2000.

The company sold in 2006 for $1.3 billion.

During this time Mark performed additional duties of estate planning including overseeing trust investments, modifying wills, establishing a family counsel, creating new family trusts and a foundation, serving as a director of family foundations, and developing wealth transfer plans for the Robert H. Dedman, Sr. family who owned 75% of the company.

He married Dedman's daughter Patricia

In 2001, the year before he died, Dedman made the Forbes list of America's 400 wealthiest individuals with a net worth of $1.2 billion
