Samuel Eto'o

Samuel Eto'o's House

Samuel Eto'o is a Cameroonian footballer who plays as a striker for Sampdoria and formerly for the Cameroon national team.

Eto'o paid £18.5M for this home, once owned by George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon, the famed Egyptologist best known for his discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun as well as his ownership of Highclere Castle in England -- the setting for the TV show Downton Abbey.

The villa, known as Villa Altachiara, is said to be cursed by the mummy of King Tut. Carnarvon's nephew died at the property after falling down the stairs. Then, in 2001, heiress and Gucci model, Countess Francesca Agusta fell off the property's cliff overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Her body was found weeks later when it washed ashore in St. Tropez.
