Summerfield K. Johnston Jr. is a businessman who was worth $680 million in 2002 according to Forbes. His grandfather James and a partner landed the first Coca-Cola bottling franchise in 1899. It passed down 3 generations to Summerfield and became the largest independent Coke bottler. In 1991 it merged with Coca-Cola Enterprises, where he was the Chairman of the executive committee. He has ranked on the Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans.
