After being discharged from service, he continued to work as a DJ at WSM in Nashville. Sajak moved to Los Angeles in 1977, after being offered a job as a weatherman at KNBC.
In 1981, legendary producer Merv Griffin hired Pat Sajak to replace Chuck Woolery as the host of Wheel of Fortune. Sajak hosted the daytime and syndicated versions of the show and continues to host the syndicated show to this day. He is the longest-running host of any game show.
Pat Sajak and Lesly Brown-Sajak have been married since 1989 and have two children.
Sajak is a season-ticket holder for the NHL’s Washington Capitals and is frequently seen at the games. He mad an on-ice appearance at the 2018 Stanly Cup Finals.
