The actor († 1991) lived here in the late 60s. He surrounded himself with models, fashion designers and hippies, and is said to have hosted excessive drug parties and orgies here. In 1969, he met his third wife, Minhoï Loanic, at one of these parties.

Jane Fonda lived here for a couple of months while filming "Barbarella".

In the 15th century, a sarcophagus containing a mummy was discovered on the property. The mummy was identified as Tullia, the only daughter of Roman philosopher Cicero.
