Louis W. Parker was a multi-millionaire inventor who synchronized television sound and helped Apollo astronauts gauge oxygen supplies on the moon. Parker was born in Hungary in 1906 as Lazlo Kolozsy, but changed his name to sound more American. Throughout his life, Parker held more than 250 patents that helped modernize television. In 1967, he donated $1.1M (roughly $8.4M adjusted for inflation) to the City of Fort Lauderdale to build Parker Playhouse.

Parker's son currently owns this home.
