Morris Schinasi's House (Former) (Birds Eye)
Morris Schinasi was a Turkish tobacco baron. Schinasi had this 35 room 12,000 sqft mansion commissioned in 1909. It still includes a Prohibition-era trap door that leads to a tunnel that once extended all the way to the Hudson river.

The mansion remains the only detatched single family home in all of Manhattan.

Schinasi was the father of American sculptor, filmmaker, entrepreneur, window dresser, designer and inventor Altina Schinasi.
