Wolff von Amerongen (1918-2007) is regarded as one of the most influential entrepreneurs of post-war Germany and was seen as the "minister" of East-West trade.
He chaired Otto Wolff AG, one of the largest trading groups in West Germany, was Chairman of the German East-West Trade Committee, held positions on the boards of other major firms and became a director of Standard Oil of New Jersey (later Exxon) in 1971.
