In 1933, after landing her first movie role in the Eddie Cantor film, Roman Scandals, Lucille Ball moved into this home, before inviting her family to move in with her.

It was at this home that Ball's grandfather hosted Communist Party meetings which landed the actress in the middle of the famous 1950s Congressional investigations by the House Un-American Activities Committee to determine her ties to the Communist Party.
