Galen G. Weston Jr (his friends call him "G2") is one of Canada's youngest billionaires. He is CEO of George Weston Ltd. a company founded by his great grandfather George Weston and subsequently run by his grandfather Garfield Weston and most recently his father W. Galen Weston Sr. Galen Jr is also chairman of Loblaw Cos Ltd., in which George Weston Ltd. has a major stake. The family also controls Selfridges Group and the private UK based investment company Wittington Investments Ltd. Prince Charles and members of the Royal Family are closes friends with the Weston family. Galen Jr's wife Alexandra Schmidt is granddaughter of Thomas J. Bata, founder of the Bata shoe empire. The Weston family has vast real estate holdings in the UK, Canada and America including a family compound in Florida.
