Glynn Turman is a stage, television, and film actor as well as a writer, director, and producer. He is best known for his portrayal of Lew on Peyton Place, Army colonel Bradford Taylor on the NBC sitcom A Different World, and Baltimore mayor Clarence Royce on the HBO drama series The Wire.
Turman was married to singer Aretha Franklin from 1978-1984.
