Maurice Maeterlinck's House (Former)

Maurice Maeterlinck was a playright, poet, and essayist, who won the 1911 Nobel Price of Literature.

Maeterlinck owned this property, known as Palais Maeterlinck. During WWII, Maeterlinck abandoned the property to move to the United States, during which time the property was significantly vandalized. Following the war, Maeterlinck moved back into the home, where he later died, in 1949.

Currently, Palais Maeterlinck is being transformed into 18 ultra-exclusive apartments by the current owner, Czech billionaire, Radovan Vitek.
