Sir Sultan Muhammed Shah, Aga Khan III was the 48th Imam of the Nizari Ismaili community. He was one of the founders and the first president of the All-India Muslim League.

"Yakymour", as he called this mansion, was one of his residences until his death in 1957. His widow, Begum Om Habibeh Aga Khan, died here in 2000.
