Margaret Hilda Thatcher (10/13/1925 - 4/8/2013) was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990. Known as the "Iron Lady", she was the first and only female Prime Minister and the longest serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century.
Thatcher grew up in the flat above of her father's grocery shop. She left for Oxford in 1943 to study chemistry .
