The oldest daughter of Gertrude Baniszewski, who tortured and murdered Sylvia Likens in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1965, known as the worst crime ever commited in the state of Indiana, lives here.
Paula was responsible for beating and torturing Sylvia along with her mother, On certain occasion, Paula beat Likens in the face with such force that she broke her own wrist.
Paula Baniszewski was found guilty of second-degree murder. She uncessfully tried to escape the prison two times in 1971. She was released in 1972.
In the next years, Paula assumed a new identity and worked in a school in Iowa, as an aide to a school counselor in Conrad, Iowa. She was fired in 2012 following a revelation of her real name and her participation in the 1965 case.
Paula is married with John Pace and have two children.
Paula moved to this house along with her husband, John, who is the owner of the archery range Back 40 Archery
