Carolwood Estate - Zhang Jiale's House (Site Of Walt Disney's Last Home)

This was the site of Walt Disney's last home, which was a modest Spanish style house. In 1948, Disney and his wife Lillian bought a 5 acre lot of land in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles and constructed a modest Spanish style house in 1950. Walt lived there until his death in 1966. His widow, Lillian kept the ownership of the estate until her death in 1997.

In 1998, it was bought by Houston Dynamo Soccer club co-owner and billionaire investor, Gabriel Brener, for $8.5 Million. Brener demolished the house due to structural problems and asbestos. In 2001, Brener bought the adjacent lot of land next door and built this 22,396 square feet, 7 bedroom, 8 bathroom mansion.

Brener listed the estate in June 2013 for $90 Million. In June 2014, the house was sold for $74 Million to Chinese heiress "King" Zhang Jiale. Her father is billionaire Zhang Jun of Sino Life Insurance.
