Elliott Abrams is an American diplomat, lawyer, and political scientist who served in foreign policy positions for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.
In 1991, he was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of unlawfully withholding information from Congress during the Iran–Contra affair investigation.
On 25 JAN 2019, he was appointed as Special Envoy on Venezuela by Donald Trump.
