As a political activist, he founded the civil liberties advocacy organization People For the American Way in 1981 and has supported First Amendment rights and liberal causes.

This house has been owned by Emerson Glazer (son of Guilford Glazer) for the last 20 or so years. The park-like area to the south of the house with the gazebo and sandtrap also appears to be park of the estate.
