January Celebrity Birthdays

As the last of the confetti falls from the sky and the Christmas trees come down, most of us are wrapping up the season of celebrating.

But not all of us. Let’s see which celebrities will be stretching out the party season as they celebrate January birthdays.

Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson is a Hollywood legend, starring in movies since the late 1970s. He turns 67 on January 3, and he has plenty of reasons, and places, to celebrate.

He may celebrate his birthday with any of his nine kids, maybe on his private island in Fiji, which he bought in 2004 for about $15 million. This would be a great place to celebrate a winter birthday!

He will probably celebrate his birthday in Los Angeles, and he has multiple homes to chose from, including homes in Malibu and Agoura Hills.

Jeremy Renner

Jeremy Renner is turning 49 on January 7, but he certainly hasn’t slowed down as he approaches 50. His films have grossed more than $3.5 billion, making him one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. The private actor could easily spend the day with friends he’s made on dozens of successful films, especially those from the Avengers franchise.

After his day of celebrating, he’ll probably return to his LA home that he shares with friend and fellow actor Kristoffer Winters. The two bought the home in 2009, and share other properties throughout the LA area as well.

Dave Matthews

The famous alternative rock musician will be turning 53 on January 9.

If he’s in Seattle, he’ll sing Happy Birthday with his wife and two kids, where they live part time.

He bought the home in 2001, before he and his wife were married, spending $350,000 on the residence.

If they’re not singing in Seattle, they’ll probably sing in Charlottesville, Virginia, where Dave has a second home, complete with recording studio.

He owns two additional adjacent lots, a nearby vineyard, and 1,000 acres of farmland.

Howard Stern

Howard Stern turns 66 on January 12, and the shock jock, if he lives up to his reputation, will have an awesome, maybe even raucous celebration. He lives just outside New York at least part time, so he can do his radio show and still get home for dinner.

Stern bought a massive lot in 2005 for $20 million, and constructed a custom three floor home with eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and 16,000 square feet of living space. This would be a great place to throw a party.

Howard Stern's House (Google Maps)

Stern also has a home in Palm Beach, Florida, perfect for a January celebration. He dropped more than $52 million, a paltry sum for someone with a net worth of more than $650 million!

The home has twelve bedrooms and nearly 19,000 square feet of living area. He could host an epic celebration in a mansion that big!

Ellen DeGeneres

The daytime television superhost will celebrate her 62nd birthday on January 26. The spontaneous and cheerful host will be happily enjoying her birthday wishes with friends and loved ones, and since she has her daily show to take care of, she’ll probably be in Los Angeles for her birthday.

That doesn’t narrow down where she’ll actually celebrate, as she and her wife Portia de Rossi own several homes in the area and are constantly flipping them.

Ellen bought a large home in Montecito in 2017 for $7.2 million, and the home would be a great, relaxing place to celebrate a birthday.

Oprah Winfrey

If Ellen is the queen of daytime television, Oprah is the empress, having established an empire that spans television, internet, print and film. The insanely successful woman will turn 66 on January 29.

While it would be tempting to spend a January birthday on your massive Hawaiian property if you had one, Oprah will probably not spend her birthday at her Kula estate.

Oprah Winfrey's House (Bing Maps)
Oprah Winfrey's House

Oprah will probably spend her birthday with friends and loved ones at her exclusive Montecito, California. Oprah has lived here since 2001, when she paid $50 million for the 42 acre estate. She bought the home after seeing it at a party, and convinced the owners to sell her the property.

If Oprah is confident enough to buy a house like that, we know she’ll certainly have an awesome birthday.

January is a new year for everyone, and for these lucky stars, it’s a new year of life, another trip around the sun, and another 365 days to celebrate life. Happy Birthday everyone!

Who’s Having a Birthday in December?

They say celebrities are just like the rest of us, and that’s true in that we all get older, no matter how much money we have. But the rich and famous can celebrate and mark their birthdays in a style the rest of us just dream of.

Let’s see who is going to be celebrating in style this month.

Bette Midler

The legendary singer, songwriter and actress will turn 74 on December 1.

Whether she serenades her guests or they sing to her, Happy Birthday will ring out. Hollywood royalty, Bette’s career has spanned five decades and has earned her Grammys, Emmys, a Tony, and nominations for Oscars and other awards.

She has a home in Hawaii, her birthplace, on the island of Kilauea, which would be a great place to celebrate a December birthday.

She also owns a luxurious home in Hollywood, which has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. She has lived here part-time since 2002.

Because she spends a lot of time performing and working with theater, she may celebrate her birthday in her Dover, New York home, which she has owned since 2004.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears has lived a lot in her 37 years. On December 2, she’ll celebrate her 38th birthday. Hopefully she’ll be surrounded by supportive family and friends as she rings in her new year.

Perhaps she’ll celebrate her birthday in her new Thousand Oaks, California home. She bought the home in 2015, which sits on 20 acres, for about $7.5 million. The 13,000+ square foot home has five bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms, a pool, lounge area and a lot of space to relax.

Felicity Huffman

Having recently returned home from a short stint in prison for her role in a college admissions scandal, actress Felicity Huffman will probably spend her 57th birthday on December 9 in a low-key celebration.

She could spend it at her exclusive Outpost Estates mansion, where she and her husband William H. Macy have lived since the late 1990s. They own multiple lots and homes in the neighborhood, increasing their privacy and real estate portfolio at the same time.

Hopefully her birthday celebration will help her forget her recent drama and focus on her family and loved ones.

Bob Barker

Turning 96 on December 12, Bob Barker has been in Hollywood for over sixty years.

He’s almost certainly planning to celebrate his birthday at his home, which he worked to have designated historic-cultural monument due to its architecture and historical importance. The two-story Spanish colonial home has been in the news for other reasons, including when a car crashed into the outer wall of the home in June 2019.

Happy Birthday, Bob!

Samuel L. Jackson

The highest grossing actor in history, Samuel L. Jackson can afford to buy a lot of cake when he turns 71 on December 21. He and his wife Latanya have lived in a posh Beverly Hills neighborhood since 2000.

The 11,738 square foot house has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, and they bought it from Roseanne Barr for $8.35 million. This place would be perfect to celebrate the birthday for one of Hollywood’s most bad-ass celebrities, for sure.

Ryan Seacrest

Hollywood’s host with the most, Ryan Seacrest will turn 45 on December 24, and if his personal life is like his professional, his celebration will be full of toothy grins, perfectly coiffed celebrities, and fun memories.

While he may be in New York City taping Live with Kelly and Ryan or preparing for a holiday special, he may also be at home in his Hollywood Hills home, which he bought from Ellen DeGeneres, in 2007. The living room with 17 foot vaulted ceilings is big enough to host any group the star would likely host for his Christmas Eve birthday party.

LeBron James

Since he doesn’t have a Lakers game on his December 30 birthday, maybe LeBron James will be lucky enough to spend a few hours at his Brentwood California home with family, long enough to eat cake, open a few presents and even rest a little before the next basketball game, a home game on January 1.

He’s owned this home since 2015, when he paid $21 million for the mansion, and spends more time here since he transferred to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.

If he’s really lucky, he’ll spend some time in his epic mansion in Fairlawn, Ohio. The 30,000 square foot mansion was designed specifically for James, including a bowling alley, sports theater, in-home gym and massive master suite.

All hail King James, who has done more, worked harder and made more money in his soon-to-be 35 years than most of us will do in a lifetime

These are just a few of the celebrities who are celebrating this month. If you’re having a birthday then happy birthday to you, too!

November Celebrity Birthdays

Whether you’re 8 or 98, having a birthday is a cause for celebration. Cake, ice cream, and presents are the norm for most of us, but if you’re a celebrity, celebrating can go to another level entirely. Let’s see what lucky stars are celebrating this month.

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin, famous comedian and actress, turns 59 on November 4, 2019.   Her long career in Hollywood has included comedy specials, television shows, hosting events, and speaking out on political issues.

Her career has allowed her to purchase several homes throughout the Los Angeles area, including a $10.5 million home in Bel Air Crest, one of the most elite gated areas in the area.

Whether she’s with Anderson Cooper or any of her other friends, she’ll be laughing as she blows out her candles.

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey is a famous actor who, while he spends time in California for filming his hit television shows and movies, loves to be in his native Texas. He owns a working ranch in Mertzon. Not many celebrities can make that claim.

Matthew McConaughey's Ranch (Google Maps)

However, he’s more likely to celebrate with his wife Camilla and children in their Austin mansion, where they were married in 2012. The 10,000 square foot house has eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and access to a nearby lake for outings with his family. There’s no better place to celebrate your birthday than with your family on a lake in Texas.

Emma Stone

The hip young actress is always refreshing to see in films, but she’s been acting since she was a little girl. She will have a lot to celebrate when she turns 31 on November 6, whether she’s in New York or Los Angeles.

She has a fabulous apartment in New York that would be perfect for celebrating with friends.

Emma Stone's Apartment (StreetView)

However, she’s more likely to spend her birthday on the west coast, seeing as how she’s bought two homes there within the last year. She bought a mansion in Westwood in August 2019 for $2.3 million, reportedly for a family member.

Emma Stone's House (Google Maps)

She bought a Malibu home in October 2018 for $3.25 million. This home on 3.2 acres is likely where the famously private actress will spend her birthday with close friends and family, and maybe her Oscar for La LA LAnd.

Leonardo DiCaprio

The veteran actor, born on Veteran’s Day, November 11, will be turning 45 this year, but he’s not slowing down. He owns homes throughout southern California and around the world so it’s anyone’s guess where he’ll be celebrating his birthday, but everyone knows it’ll be a blast for anyone invited.

It could be on his private island in Belize, which he is turning into an eco-friendly resort that will open to the public in 2020.

It’s more likely he’ll be in California, perhaps at the new house he’s building on the 1.76 acre oceanfront lot he bought for $23 million in 2017.

Lorne Michaels

Lorne Michaels has been bringing late night laughs into the homes of Americans for more than 40 years, and on November 17, he’ll be laughing in his home as he celebrates his 75th birthday.

He’ll probably celebrate it in his Armagansett, New York house, since he’ll be in full swing of the fall season of Saturday Night Live.

Bjork

The quirky and talented Icelandic musician was born in Reykjavik on November 21, 1965 and has been entertaining people for more than 40 years.

The talented artist spends most of her time in Iceland, but if she’s in the United States, she will probably be serenading her guests with an edgy rendition of “Happy Birthday” in Palisades, New York.

Howie Mandel

The Deal or No Deal and America’s Got Talent host is America’s favorite germophobe. While he won’t be shaking hands with his birthday guests on November 29, he’ll still be celebrating with loved ones.

He’s lived in the same mansion in Hidden Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles, California since 1999. The 13,000 square foot mansion was custom built to his specifications. He bought a second home in the same suburb in 2018, so the birthday boy will be twice as happy.

You don’t have to be a celebrity to celebrate in style, just find a place to celebrate, invite your closest friends and family, and tuck into some cake and ice cream. If November’s your birthday month: Happy Birthday!

October Celebrity Birthdays

Curious who might be having a birthday this month?

Here’s a list of just a few celebrities who will be celebrating their annual trip around the sun in October, and some of the homes where they might be celebrating.

Kelly Ripa

October 2 is a weekday, so viewers will certainly be able to see her on her morning television show Live! with Kelly and Ryan. Hopefully she’ll celebrate on stage with the audience and crew, but she’ll certainly be celebrating with her family after work.

Maybe they’ll head to their mansion in Southampton, which is a 5,500 square foot house with five bedrooms, a great yard and a sweet pool. It set them back $2.35 million in 2004, and has been a great retreat for the family since then.

Kate Winslet

Film icon Kate Winslet may turn 44 on October 5, but she’ll likely look as glamorous as ever. She may celebrate her birthday in her lovely home on the beach in Sussex, Great Britain.

She loves her eight bedroom beachside manor so much she’s even using it as the location for an upcoming Hollywood film, so it would make sense she celebrates there with her family if at all possible.

Happy Birthday, Kate!

Simon Cowell

America’s favorite grumpy judge should remember that frowning can cause wrinkles, which you don’t want to see on your birthday. Simon Cowell turns 60 on October 7, and hopefully he’ll smile as he blows out all those candles.

If he’s in California filming America’s Got Talent or working on one of his many television projects, he has no shortage of homes to celebrate in without leaving the area.

His main LA home, bought in 2005 from Jennifer Lopez, has been significantly renovated to be more family-friendly. The new 10,000 square foot “dream home” includes an epic terrace off the master suite, tanning salon, screening room and areas for the live-in help.

If that doesn’t satisfy him, he can zip down the street to the home he bought in 2011 for $15.5 million, and promptly began an extensive renovation.

It includes cashmere-covered couches and an ottoman that turns into a television.

If he’s in New York, he can celebrate in his newly renovated town home, which he bought for nearly $11 million, and of course, immediately began to renovate.

The home overlooks Central Park, which would make a lovely setting for a rendition of “Happy Birthday”, on tune of course.

Bruno Mars

Any home for Bruno Mars has to have a lot of shelf space to hold all his Grammy Awards.

The Hawaiian crooner should serenade himself with “Happy Birthday” on October 8 in his lovely $6.5 million Los Angeles mansion.

He’ll have plenty of activities to choose from in his home, which includes a children’s wing, a wine cellar, steam room, dry sauna, infinity pool and heated cabana.

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman is everyone’s celebrity, from the people who love his X-Men character Wolverine to those who love to see him sing and dance in The Greatest Showman, and everyone will be wishing him a happy birthday on October 12. Aussie Hugh can celebrate his birthday all around the world.

He might eat cake and ice cream with his family in his Hamptons estate. The main house has been under renovation for four years, but the family stays in the gorgeous guest house when they visit, as often as their schedule permits.

They may celebrate just down the road in the family’s New York City apartment, which they bought in 2008 for roughly $15 million. They actually bought a unit that spans three floors in the exclusive building in the West End.

Of course, the family may celebrate at home in Australia in their exclusive Bondi Beach apartment, which they bought for about $4 million. It overlooks the bay, has a state of the art kitchen,  and imported European wood floors.

Drake

Hopefully Drake will celebrate his 33rd birthday at his Los Angeles home, which he bought in 2012 for almost $8 million. He claims he bought the house, which has a library, wine cellar, and indoor gym, for the pool, which is a huge, landscaped expanse that includes underground grottos.

The estate is nicknamed the “YOLO Estate” and it certainly lives up to the reputation. He hosts parties that are so awesome that the neighbors used to complain. Not for long, though, because Drake actually bought the neighbor’s house to resolve the issue!

If he’s in Los Angeles on October 24 to celebrate, the entire neighborhood will know about it, that’s for sure.

Having a birthday is usually fun, filled with song, celebration, good food and loved ones. But having a birthday as a celebrity is even better because you can celebrate on a whole new level, and choose among your many mansions where you want to party.

Properties of Jeffrey Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financier and mainstay in elite New York and international circles, committed suicide on August 10 in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City. He was awaiting trial for the sex trafficking of minors. It had been rumored that Epstein committed sex trafficking, exploited women and girls, and hosted sex parties and erotic activities around the world.

Epstein had a list of friends and acquaintances that included Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, former senators and businessmen, and even international royalty. Epstein had longstanding ties to the most influential and important people in the world, and rumors that they participated in sexual activities hosted or arranged by Epstein have been swirling for years. This, combined with speculation that he held blackmail material on them, have made his prosecution and subsequent suicide front page news.

Herbert N. Straus House, New York, NY

On July 9, 2019, as Epstein was being arrested in New Jersey, FBI agents raided his gigantic home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The home, one of the largest private residences in the city, is over 50,000 square feet, and has nine floors, a fifteen foot wood front door and heated sidewalks!

According to reports, it is decorated from floor to ceiling in elaborate, eclectic and sometimes bizarre decor, including a stuffed black poodle on top of a Steinway grand piano and rows of glass eyeballs designed for English soldiers.

Epstein spent a lot of time in Florida, hobnobbing with celebrities, and hosting events that were rumored to be sex parties with underage girls.

In 2005, the mother of a young woman pressed charges against Epstein in Palm Beach, leading to his pleading guilty to prostituting an underage girl and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Epstein was allowed “work release” where he could leave the prison for 12 or 13 hours a day to work and conduct business; treatment that is extremely rare in the U.S. judicial system and drew significant criticism from victim advocates and others.

Little St. James Island, U.S. Virgin Islands

Epstein owned a small island in the Caribbean, complete with a house that has, according to rumor, hosted “sex parties” for princes, American politicians, and wealthy individuals from around the world. He is alleged to have flown them to the island on his private airplane nicknamed the Lolita Express.

The island was raided in August 2019, in a search for more evidence against Epstein and his associates in relation to cases of sexual exploitation.

Zorro Ranch, Stanley, NM

Among all the rumors of Epstein’s exploits that surfaced in the summer of 2019 were allegations that he had parties at his New Mexico ranch. The ranch sits on over 8,000 acres of land just outside Santa Fe.

Neighbors say Epstein threw parties so big that they would drown out the light of the stars.

He also supposedly wanted to use the ranch as a breeding facility to seed the human race with exceptionally attractive people by impregnating attractive women with his own DNA.

Epstein also maintained a residence near the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, for when he visited the country for business or personal affairs.

Epstein purchased several units within the property at 22 Avenue Foch for a reported 1.5 million Euros in 2002.

With the scandal developing in the United States, French officials have begun investigating Epstein’s activities in Paris.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Mansion, Manchester, MA

Among all the people associated with Epstein and his alleged crimes, Ghislaine Maxwell’s name has come up most often. The British socialite was known as his girlfriend, best friend and associate. She coordinated many of the activities that have been the source of criminal allegations, and has been named by many accusers of playing an active role in sex trafficking.

As of the summer 2019, she lived in a mansion in Manchester, Massachusetts with her boyfriend, but she has evaded law enforcement in the days after Epstein’s death.

Jeffrey Epstein's Apartment (Google Maps)

While Epstein will not be held accountable for his alleged criminal activities, leaving victims unable to obtain justice from him, the intense media exposure and public attention to the events of the summer have all but ensure that the case will continue to be investigated, giving them some closure.

It is likely that others, even high profile individuals, will be implicated in the crimes and further criminal prosecution will take place.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Has a New Home–Check Out the Cast’s Homes!

Americans love their crime shows and the comedies. With Brooklyn Nine-Nine you don’t have to choose!

The slapstick comedy surrounding Andy Samberg’s character Jake Peralta, his boss, Terry Crew’s Captain Raymond Holt and the precinct was a breakout success on Fox in 2013, but after five seasons, the network cancelled the show. NBC rescued the show, and fans, by picking up the series and ordering another season, which premiered January 10, 2019.

As the show has a new home, it’s a great time to see homes of the cast and creators too!

Andy Samberg

Andy Samberg, who rose to fame on Saturday Night Live before becoming even more famous starring as Jake Peralta on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, lives with his wife Joanna Newsom in the Beachwood Canyon area of Los Angeles.

Their estate, named “Moorcrest” was purchased in 2014 for $6.25 million. The home includes a domed atrium, backyard pool complete with a cave, and has great attention to detail blending Moorish and Art Nouveau styles throughout the home.

Terry Crews

Long before he became known as Captain Raymond Holt, Terry Crews had a successful football career, playing for the Rams, Redskins and Chargers. Then he transitioned into acting, and in 2013 landed on the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

He lives with his wife and some of his five children in a lovely Santa Monica mansion complete with guest house and pool.

He also owns a downtown Los Angeles loft, where he spends time working on creative projects and when he needs to be closer to the city. The open-concept loft is his “man cave” and retreat from the world where he can seek inspiration for his comedic and design endeavors.

Michael Schur

Michael Schur is the magic behind many of the iconic television shows of our era, writing for shows including The Office, Parks and Recreation and of course Brooklyn Nine-Nine. His writing emphasizes the characters and their growth, often in uplifting and amusing ways, which engages viewers and develops positive fan followings wherever he goes in his career.

He has lived in the same Los Angeles home with his wife and two children for several years.

Kyra Sedgwick

Most famous for her role as a tough-as-nails police officer in The Closer, Kyra Sedgwick had a fun and popular guest appearance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She has since remained a huge fan of the show and continues to speak highly of the time she was able to work with the cast and crew.

She and her husband, Kevin Bacon, raised their two children in a gorgeous home in Sharon, Connecticut.

Like most actors, she also maintains a residence in Los Angeles, California. She and Kevin have owned this mansion complete with outdoor pool since 2012.

While Andy, Terry and the rest of the cast are nowhere near the trendy borough and it’s eponymous bridge, since filming takes place in California, it’s fun to watch the show about New York’s coolest, and funniest, borough.

The 91st Academy Awards

The Academy Awards, often called the Oscars, is Hollywood’s night to shine. All the industry’s elite, the actors, directors, musicians, and behind the scenes talent, gather together to recognize the best work produced in movies in the last year. They walk the red carpet and discuss their wardrobe, thoughts on nominees and celebrate a year of fabulous films.

The industry’s most coveted awards will be given out this Sunday, February 24, at the Dolby Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The theater, which opened in 2001, was designed with hosting the Oscars in mind.

Originally called the Kodak Theater, the Dolby Theater got its new name from a sound company that works closely with the movie industry.

Everyone will be hoping that the Academy recognizes their hard work and talent. Most will go home empty handed, honored just to have been nominated; let’s look at some of the celebrity homes that might have a new statue on the mantle come Monday morning.

Christian Bale

Christian Bale, a constant presence in film since his youth, has already won one Oscar, in 2010 for Best Supporting Actor in The Fighter. This year he has been nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Vice.

He has multiple homes around the world, including two homes in the Los Angeles region. He has a home in Brentwood Park, which he purchased in 2017 for about $9 million.

Rachel Weisz

British actress Rachel Weisz is nominated alongside her castmate Emma Stone for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Favourite. Rachel already has an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, which she won in 2005 for her role in The Constant Gardner.

While Rachel is British, she spends most of her time in New York, and sometimes on her farm outside the city. She bought the 1700s era farm house and surrounding land in 2008. While she doesn’t spend most of her time here, it would be an ideal place to retreat from the media and enjoy a little quiet time after the Oscars, with or without a statue to take home.

But love or hate him, his talent, staying power and ability to lead the New England Patriots is remarkable. He has led his team to eight Super Bowls, winning five times. Rob Grownkowski

Since being drafted by the Patriots in 2010, Rob Grownkowski, or “Gronk”, has been a critical part of the team’s success. The team failed to make the playoffs only once since he started with the team (one season he didn’t play due to injury though). He has taken to living in Massachusetts and has become an important part of the community of Foxborough, where the tight end lives with roommates in a mansion. Sadly, the home was burglarized while he was playing in Super Bowl 52. Hopefully, this year the thieves will stay away!
